After using The Force to knock the attacking clones off their feet, Krell escaped into the jungle, demonstrating a newfound passion for the dark side and for violence, with Rex and the 501st in pursuit. The troops begun to wonder if Fives was right, but not caring at all, Dogma ordered them to fire. The survivors of the ordeal came to the realization that Krell was unfit for military command and resorted to arresting the rogue Jedi. The two troopers passed the sensor fence surrounding the airbase by climbing a tree. The clone forces charged straight into the Umbaran's frontlines, forcing the enemy militia to fall back. Just when the rogue troopers make their shot on the reactors, the ray shields came up. Krell was enraged upon learning this, but he only ordered the prisoners to be returned to the brig upon learning of an Umbaran counterattack in which the enemy seized clone trooper weapons and armor to disguise themselves with: Krell had Rex and his men move to intercept the advance immediately. Anakin, Rex, and the 501st started to march on Umbaran militia and soon the enemy was outnumbered and many of their hover tanks were destroyed by ARF troopers. Masters Tiin, Krell and Kenobi would attack the Umbaran forces from south while Anakin's battalion would move in from the north and destroy the enemy reinforcements. As Skywalker forces regrouped for the attack on the Capital, Master Krell arrived with orders from the Jedi Council ordering him to return to Coruscant at the Supreme Chancellor's request. When General Krell learned of Fives' insurrection, he ordered Sergeant Appo to bring the dissenters to the watchtower. Late 21 BBY[7] After revealing that Krell had betrayed the clones, Waxer died, shedding one tear. Rex told them that he tried to reason with Krell with no success. Krell told him about how he admires some of his leadership traits. Along the way, Rex freed Fives and Jesse from their imprisonment and gave them back their armor and weapons. [24] Rex ordered his men to go into the jungle and find him. The Battle of Umbara is the third major battle of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, the first being the Battle of Ryloth and the second was the Second Battle of Geonosis. Umbara, informally known as the Shadow World due to the rays of its sun never completely reaching its surface, was a perpetually dark planet within the reaches of the Ghost Nebula. Krell changed his mind from court-martialing the soldiers to sentencing them to execution. Troopers shot the plant and then when Krell wanted to get up Tup shocked him. Rex then talked to Fives, telling him that Krell was famous for many victories during the Clone Wars, but Fives still didn't agree. Rex later discovered they were shooting at their own men, the 212th Attack Battalion, when he examined one of the fallen 212th Clone Troopers. The troopers then untied the two clones. Krell was soon informed of this. A battle droid sees Hardcase in a starfighter. He then ordered Fives and Jesse to get out of the ship. Rex asked Waxer who gave the order to attack them who told Rex that Krell told his platoon that the Umbarans had stolen clone armor. During the battle, the 501st was temporarily in charge by General Pong Krell who secretly is working for Count Dooku while Skywalker was requested back to Coruscant. As the 501st entered the gorge, Rex divided it into three groups with Fives and Hardcase. The Republic struggles to recapture the planet Umbara as Jedi General Skywalker and Kenobi lead the 501st and 212th. The 501st then resumed their advance towards the airbase before being forced to retreat by enemy fire from spider cannons. Clone troopers told him to surrender, but he then attacked them with his two double bladed lightsabers and the Force push.
